For the final time this year, Oak Street Baptist Church will host a nationally lauded gospel band for the price of a goodwill donation.

The gospel music ministry Paul's Journey will take the stage at 7 p.m. tonight inside the church, preceded by a hymn sing at 6:30 p.m.

Paul's Journey is on the road about 200 days a year. That continual journey started more than 40 years ago with four young men, all who were related to each other. Paul's Journey has earned a number of distinctions since, though many faces in the group have come and gone over the decades. Paul's Journey was awarded the South Texas Association Group of the Year for 2001, 2004, 2007 and 2014.

More recently, they were chosen by the Singing News southern gospel fans as one of the top five traditional quartets in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Though this is the last First Friday concert of the year for Oak Street Baptist, the concert series will return in spring of next year.
