Nine Nevada FFA members and Kevin Cooper volunteered at the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 13, with the Iowa Cattlemen’s Beef Quarters. The students met at the high school around 9 a.m., and then headed to the state fair to work a six-hour shift at the the cattlemen’s beef stands. Duties the students were assigned to included dish washing, french fry preparation, beverages and table service. Students were provided with an admission ticket and a meal during their work shift. Nevada FFA advisor Kevin Cooper accompanied the students to the fair. Nevada FFA has maintained a tradition of volunteering at the state fair for 20 years, helping both the cattlemen and the pork producers.
