First Christian Church in Nevada is excited to introduce its new pastor, Mike Albert.

Come worship with us. We are anxious for you to meet him if you haven’t already; he has a true heart of ministry.

Mike Albert grew up in Wichita, Kan. He received his Master’s of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary in Enid, Okla., in 1987. Mike has pastored churches in Houston, Texas; Washington, Kan.; Mulvane, Kan. and Tulsa, Okla. Following a 27-year ministry at Yale Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa, Mike “retired” in December 2014. During his ministry in Oklahoma, Mike held numerous leadership positions in the region. Mike continues to have standing as an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and recently served as interim minister at the Prairie City Christian Church in Prairie City.

In January 2015, Mike began a second career with HCI Hospice Care Services as a Spiritual Care and Bereavement Counselor. His role in this position is to provide spiritual care and support to hospice patients and their families; to be truly present with them and provide a safe and accepting environment to speak about issues closest to their hearts and souls.

Mike and his wife, Patti, have been married for 46 years. They are the proud parents of two adult children and four amazing grandchildren. Patti also works as a part-time bereavement counselor with HCI Hospice. Patti has a tremendous love for music, singing in the West Des Moines Christian Church choir as well as Harmony Chorus. Mike and Patti live in West Des Moines.

Come worship with us, Sundays at 9 a.m. and beginning Sunday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m., with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Mike and the FCC members look forward to meeting you!
