Iowa State University head football coach Matt Campbell and Charlie’s Angels Cystic Fibrosis fundraising team will be sponsoring the third annual Lunch with Coach Campbell on Tuesday, July 17.
The annual event will be held at the ISU football complex, with lunch at the Heartland Room of the Jacobson Building. The event is being held to benefit Charlotte Hugunin “Charlie” (daughter of Tim and Jenny Hugunin) who battles cystic fibrosis. With your help, the team is working hard to raise funds to help fund both research for a cure, and the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, where Charlie and other CF children receive their care.
Coach Campbell came on board with Charlie’s Angels three years ago and now considers it a “tradition” to continue until Charlie is free of cystic fibrosis. Campbell tells that his participation in the annual event has nothing to do with him being the head football coach at Iowa State, but everything to do with being the position to help with a cause that he believes in.
This year’s lunch is being catered by the Lincoln Center HyVee. Along with lunch, those attending will be able to meet Coach Campbell, have photos taken with him and get autographs, along with hearing about the upcoming Cyclone season.
Something new this year will be a highlight film of the Liberty Bowl football game, narrated by Campbell. There will also be some autographed ISU items that will be given as door prizes.
After lunch, those in attendance will have the opportunity to walk around on Jack Trice field and take photographs, and tour the Bergstrom Football Complex which contains the weight room, training facilities, locker rooms and indoor practice facility.
Seats are limited, but if you want to come be part of this amazing luncheon, go to Facebook page “Lunch With Coach Campbell Iowa State Head Football Coach” to get registered. The cost is $30 per person, with all proceeds to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Iowa. Plan to arrive at the Jacobson Building at 11:30, lunch will begin at noon.
You can make a difference, and we, as Charlie’s everyday Angels, appreciate your support and help.
Let’s make CF stand for “CURE FOUND!!!”
