Milestones Area Agency on Aging is distributing vouchers to low- and moderate-income seniors during June for use at local farmers markets.

Applicants must live in Iowa and be age 60 or older on the date of application. Annual income requirements are $22,459 or less for a single person and $30,451 or less for a married couple. Both husbands and wives may receive checks.

Recipients must sign a statement of eligibility including their name, address, phone number and the last four digits of their Social Security number.

Eligible persons are awarded 10 $3 checks valued at $30. The checks can be used June through October for fresh, unprepared, locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey at participating farmers market vendors.

Checks cannot be used for baked goods, eggs, jelly, meat, etc.

Autumn Heights Nutrition Center, 2830 Winegard Drive in Burlington, June 5, 7, 14 and 14 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Steamboat Senior Center, 501 Jefferson St., in Burlington, June 4 and 8, 1 to 3 p.m.

Distribution also will be available at the Milestones office, 509 Jefferson St. in Burlington, between 1 and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday starting June 11 throughout the month until the vouchers are gone.
