Last Friday afternoon, deliveries from this year’s Fill The Foyer collection were made. According to Elizabeth Gindt, who helped make deliveries and is very much part of the processes at Cubbie’s Cupboard (at the school) and Harmony Closet, said she saw this year’s drive for food, clothes and other supplies as an overwhelming success.
Along with the two agencies Gindt is involved with, she said they also helped deliver food supplies to the Nevada Food Cupboard that serves the community at large.
“All three of these local nonprofit organizations have benefited greatly from the community’s generosity through this yearly program,” Gindt said. “Having the extra clothing, food and hygiene supplies to distribute to those in need will be very welcome during this cold winter season.”
Nevada Mayor Brett Barker originally came up with the Fill The Foyer idea several years back. He was on hand again to help deliver items to the agencies. “I am very encouraged to see the community continue to support Fill The Foyer,” Barker said. “Thanks to the generosity of Nevada, it has taken on a life of its own. We were so excited to see all the donations to help stock Harmony Clothing Closet, Cubbie’s Cupboard and Nevada Community Cupboard after the holidays.”
