In a statement issued Wednesday, the parent company of Great Western Bank in Burlington announced it would raise wages, provide bonuses and improve benefits as a result of recent federal tax law changes.
Changes being implemented by Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based Great Western Bancorp include a $15 minimum wage, a one-time $500 bonus or wage increase for 70 percent of bank employees and enhanced health care offerings for 2018. The company also will increase money available for its Making Life Great grant program.
"We want to kick off 2018 by investing in our people and communities," Great Western CEO Ken Karels said in the statement.
