Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) and ISU’s Homecoming Central Committee will hold the 22nd Annual Blue Sky 4K, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, on ISU’s Central Campus.

This year’s race will also feature a Kids Fun Run, which starts at 9 a.m. before the main 4K event. Both races benefit area kids and families served through LSI’s human services programs.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with ISU’s Homecoming Central Committee again this year,” said Matt Voorhees, Residential Manager at LSI’s Beloit Residential Treatment Center in Ames. “The Blue Sky 4K is one way we can lift up our neighbors and provide quality mental health services, parent education, crisis child care, and support for people with disabilities.”

The run is open to the public, with a registration fee of $25. The Kids Fun Run is $15, and this race is recommended for ages 6 to 12. Participants can register online at and race day registration begins on ISU’s Central Campus at 9 a.m. near the Campanile. Race day registration for the Kids Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m.
