Paint your own pottery

Guest artist Hugo Kenemer will show tips for drawing monsters at a Paint Your Own Pottery drop-in event on Friday, June 30, from 4-8 p.m. at the Workspace in the ISU Memorial Union. Silly, scary or whatever you think the thing under your bed looks like, you can create it. Pieces will be fired within a week. Studio fee is $4 for those with ISU and $5 for the public, plus the cost of the bisque you select. This is open to all ages, if accompanied by an adult.

Fourth of July in Nevada

The Bill Riley Talent Search is coming to Ames on July 4 and kids are invited to compete. The Bill Riley Talent Search and state wide presenting sponsor, Hy-Vee, are excited to announce the local show in Ames. It will be held during the Ames Fourth of July Celebration on July 4 at 9 a.m. on Main Street in Thomas Evans Park. The show is open to the public.
