A day after the Nevada Journal went to press, Talent Factory owner Larry Sloan signed contracts for the Temptations Review to come to Nevada, and informed the Journal that sadly, it appears the Temptations lead singer Dennis Edward will be unable to perform on Aug. 18 in Nevada.

Edwards, Sloan said, is suffering from spinal meningitis. “They don’t expect it to go away,” he said.

For the sake of honesty, Sloan wanted to share this news. But, he said, Nate Evans, who was formerly with the Impressions when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has taken over Edwards’ band and will step in for Edwards, leading the group, to be called The Temptations Revue: A Tribute featuring Nate Evans.

While it’s disappointing that Edwards is ill and unable to perform this summer, Sloan said the public can’t go wrong with this group being led by Evans, another fantastic singer from the same era as Edwards.
