Bella Guyll and Caitlin Barker, both of Nevada and both students at Ames High, were among the 61 seniors to be recognized recently by the school for carrying a 3.8 or higher grade point average for every semester of their high school career.
Guyll is the daughter of Stephanie Madon and Max Guyll of Nevada. When she spoke at the event, she shared that her favorite high school memory was being crowned prom queen at the festivities that took place April 8. Guyll plans to major in engineering at Iowa State University this coming fall.
Barker is the daughter of Marlys and Troy Barker of Nevada and the granddaughter of Alma and Larry Barker of Nevada. When she spoke at the event, she shared that her favorite class in high school was calculus with Mr. Sparkman, who is a great math teacher. She plans to start her post high-school education with two years at DMACC and then transfer to a four-year college. Her major is undecided.
