This Saturday, April 22, during the big Shoppe Nevada event, the Nevada Community Historical Society will hold a jewelry sale, featuring unique, vintage costume jewelry pieces. The sale will go from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the History Center, 624 J Ave. The Society’s Briggs Terrace house will also be open for tours at the Evergreen Lane property on H Avenue.
Enjoy a kids’ play
The United Community School district will be putting on the play, ‘Revenge of the Pigs’ by Brian D. Taylor on April 21 and 22. The play is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colo. This play is the sequel to the three little pigs with a few other fairytale characters thrown in to keep things interesting. To find out how this grand quest for revenge turns out, come to United Community School, 1284 U Ave., Boone, on April 21 at 6:30 p.m., and/or April 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets will be $2 a person or $6 for a family, at the door.
Free graphics workshop
The Ames Community Arts Council is hosting a free graphics workshop conducted by local artist and Arts Council member Rhonda Scott. This event will be held on Thursday, April 27 from 6–9 p.m. at the Ames Public Library Auditorium. The workshop is free and open to everyone. Bring your laptop or tablet with a few digital photos, and practice making an image you can actually use. You will walk away from this workshop with everything you need to know to make quality marketing pieces for your organization or yourself.
