Shoppers wanted

The Colo Clothing Share at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fourth and Bailey, will be open for shoppers on Thursday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everything is free! The Clothing Share began serving the area in 2002, so this begins its 15th year of service to the area.

Step Into Storybooks

For families with children ages 0-8, don’t forget to check out the “Step Into Storybooks” event this Saturday morning, 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Central Elementary School in Nevada. The event is hosted by Raising Readers in Story County and will provide free and fun literacy-rich experiences to inspire families to use reading and related activities at home with their babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

Botanical Quilts

On Sunday, April 2, 1-3 p.m. enjoy the art exhibit at the Hughes Education Center Foyer, created by Diane Muse, a regional artist with roots just up the road. The exhibit will remain open through Sunday, April 23. Viewing hours are Weekends 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.; weekdays 9 a.m.-4 p.m. There is no charge, and the exhibit is open to the public.

Friday Dinner at the Legion

The community is invited to a Fish Fry Dinner at the American Legion on Friday, March 31. An alternate choice will be meatloaf. The delicious meal will be served from 5-7:30 p.m. at a cost of $8 for adults and $4 for children. The profits from this meal will help fund scholarships for our graduating seniors. Thank you for your continued support of our American Legion Family and our programs.
