Released by the city of Nevada last week, this map outlines the upcoming utility projects for this year on the affected streets. City officials met with ConStruct, the contractor, on Wednesday, March 8, to discuss the 2017 Public Improvements project.
The project will start on March 29, with ConStruct removing part of Sixth Street. That will start north of E Avenue, going north to G Avenue; the underground work on Sixth Street will begin the week of April 3. The underground work will take about one month, with preparations for paving beginning after that.
The underground crew will then move to the south end of Eighth Street and work on sewer repair and water main replacement. The work on Sixth Street will begin at G Avenue going north to I Avenue after paving of Sixth Street is finished from E to G Avenues.
Please remember these dates are not solid and are meant only as a general guide; weather and other variables may either speed up or slow down progress throughout the project.
