Bee Hotel Walk-In Craft at the Workspace

Did you know there are over 200 species of bees in Iowa? “Solitary bees” live on their own, not in colonies with a queen, like honey bees. Building a “bee hotel” to place in your yard is a great way to support your flora, and provided space for bees to thrive. The Workspace is partnering with the ISU Entomology Club to make these luxury homes for our buzzing friends on Saturday, Feb. 25. Drop in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to construct and paint your bee hotel for $12.

Bees pollinate most of our flowering plants and are invaluable to our ecosystem. Members of the Entomology Club will be available to answer all of your bee questions, and give you tips on how to get your new bee resort set up at home.
