On Feb. 18, Dr. Karen Scheel, ISU senior lecturer in psychology, will present "Supporting the Supporter: Psychology’s Top Lessons for Bolstering your Well-Being" at NAMI of Central Iowa’s monthly educational meeting. Scheel has research to show the ways family members can maintain and/or build their own well-being while being a support person to a family member with mental illness. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. at Collegiate Presbyterian Church in the Barlow Lounge.
NAMI will hold its monthly support group for family members of individuals living with mental illness on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at the NAMI office, 416 Douglas, Suite 205. No registration is required. For more information, call Deb at 515-292-9400.
