500 Card Game

AARP Tax- Aide Services offered

Heartland Senior Services at 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames, will again serve as a location for seniors to receive free income tax preparation service through the volunteer AARP Tax-Aide Program. Appointments are available 1, 2 and 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays through April 11. Participants are asked to bring in two forms of ID, including a photo ID, last year’s tax form, tax documents, medical costs, charitable donations and current real estate property tax information. Cribbage

Heartland Senior Services welcomes all cribbage players as well as those who are interested in learning the game to our next Cribbage Night, Saturday, March 1 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at HSS, 205 S Walnut, Ames. Players are invited to bring snacks for the evening. The participation fee is $3. Come and play with ISU students. 4K Thaw Out Run

Dust off your winter boots and lace up your sneakers for the 4K Thaw Out Run on Saturday, March 8 starting at Carver Hall on the Iowa State University campus. Sponsored by Ames Jaycees and Heartland Senior Services, funds raised will go to support both organizations’ community projects. All walkers, joggers and runners are welcome!
