I know I say this often, but it’s hard to believe that this week was our March potluck day already. None the less, I am looking forward to seeing all of you, and to hear our special speaker Keith Abraham, who is the director of the Ames Parks and Recreation. Keith will inform us about the proposed Miracle Playground and Sports Field which will be equipped to serve people with disabilities. Now that the planning stages are complete I will be interested to hear more about its development.
The second Tuesday from 12:30-2 p.m. is the regular day for foot care at the Center, so the nurses will be there next week on the 13th.
Our movie day will be on Wednesday, the 14th at 1 p.m. I have decided to show a movie that came out, for the first time, way back in 1993. “The Sandlot” was one of the funniest family movies of that era. You may recall that the story took place in the 1960’s when a new fifth grade boy moved to a small town and knew nothing about playing baseball. That all changed when the leader of the neighborhood gang recruited him to play on their sandlot field. It’s the beginning of a magical summer of baseball, wild adventures and first kisses for nine boys who become best friends. I hope you will make time to come to the Center for this hilarious and heartwarming movie.
