With fall and cold weather arriving, we have restarted our movie day at the Center. From now through April or May we will be showing a current movie at 1 p.m. on the Wednesday after potluck, so that will be next week on the 15th.
We will be showing the movie, “The Founder,” which is a true story about how Ray Kroc, a struggling salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in the 1950s in Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brother’s speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. Robert Siegel, the writer of this story, details how Kroc maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create this billion-dollar empire. We have all heard pieces of this story over these many years, but it is interesting to see how it really happened.
The movie is free, and we always have plenty of popcorn and lemonade, so I hope you will join us on the 15th.
