FLU SHOTS WILL BE GIVEN AT THE CENTER AT 10:45, BEFORE POTLUCK NEXT MONDAY. Then we will enjoy our usual variety of great main dishes, vegetables and salads. A guest has offered to bring a special dessert for all of us this month. As I mentioned last week, our program speaker will be from the Puppy Jake Foundation in Urbandale.

On Wednesday, the 11th, I am planning to start our winter movie season. If you recall, there was a good comedy out last winter with our favorite “old guys” Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin. In the movie, “Going in Style,” the three of them decide to buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow when their pension funds become a corporate casualty. Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, the three men risk it all by embarking on a daring adventure to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money. I hope you will make time to come to the Center at 1 o’clock on Wednesday and enjoy some popcorn and a few laughs.

We have recently started offering congregate meals at the Center again on Tuesday-Friday at 11:30. The cost is $4, and you can make a reservation by calling the Center 382-1380. (Please watch next week’s article for more details.)
