Things will be a little slower at the Center this summer so that we can all enjoy getting outdoors often. (That is if we ever get nice enough weather to be outdoors.) However, we did appreciate Nick Nerness presenting his power point presentation about the Opioid crisis in our country to our women’s coffee group last week. We learned that 55 percent of the access to habit forming opioids comes from a family member who had them left from a prescription. Our next speaker at women’s coffee time will be on June 28 when we will have a guest, from Freedom Home Health, talk to us about keeping healthy skin in the summer.

Our Bingo day comes really early this month on June 1st , so please put that on your calendar if you enjoy playing Bingo. Our prizes are always food items and paper products that everyone can use. Rhubarb pie was delicious in May but I think strawberry dessert will be on the menu for June.

On the following Thursday, June 8 at 1 p.m., we will be playing Canasta. Last month was our first time, but now that we all know the differences between Canasta and the Hand and Foot card game we should do much better. If you remember playing Canasta with your family when you were young, please come to help those of us whose parents only played 500.

Please remember to honor the lives of our fallen military persons on Monday by attending a Memorial Day service.
