The manager of a Nevada Kum & Go was arrested after court documents allege that he stole nearly $5,000 from the store since late last year.
Brian Thomas Bunn, 44, of Nevada, was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree theft, a class D felony.
According to court documents, Nevada police were alerted to Bunn’s activity after he allegedly wrote a letter to Kum & Go apologizing for taking approximately $4,770 in cash from the store, located at 731 Lincoln Highway.
Documents show that Bunn was in charge of bookkeeping for that particular store, and stated in the letter that he began taking money from the “safe drops” in November or December 2017.
Calls placed to Kum & Go inquiring about Bunn’s current employment status were not immediately returned.
As of Monday afternoon, Bunn was being held in Story County Jail on $7,500 bond.
Bunn has a preliminary hearing set for March 27.
